Social and environmental monitoring
LAP trains neighbors to identify social or environmental concerns in the Area of Direct Influence of the Expansion Project. Together with the neighborhood authorities, the representatives of each locality will be elected. The chosen neighbors will make reports that will reach us to attend to them immediately. With everyone’s help, this project will be carried out with the highest environmental and social standards.
Citizen Monitoring and Surveillance Committee
To guarantee that the work will be carried out with high quality standards, LAP has incorporated, among other things, the Citizen Monitoring and Surveillance Committee (CMVC). This committee is made up of representatives from the neighboring towns of Nuevo Jorge Chávez. Its representatives are trained in technical and environmental issues so that they can follow up on the socio-environmental commitments that LAP has assumed in the Modification of the Environmental Impact Study (MEIA).
You can review the results of the 2020 environmental monitoring here.
Training of brigades and action against tsunami
LAP, in coordination with the Provincial Municipality of Callao and Civil Defense, has made a new evacuation route available to the population, for the evacuation of the neighboring towns of Francisco Bolognesi and Daniel Alcides Carrión. In addition, volunteers from the area are being trained so that, if necessary, they lead and guide the neighbors during an emergency.
Road and environmental education
At LAP the importance of caring for the environment and road safety is understood, for that reason it has developed a social program aimed at educating schoolchildren from LAP´s neighboring towns, making them aware of good practices and promoting positive behaviors for the development of their communities.
To develop environmental and social awareness through educational videos in which we spread positive messages among local schools is sought.
