Ciudad Aeropuerto is a project that begins with the opening of the new Jorge Chávez and will extend beyond 2051.
The first businesses awarded for the future Airport City have been announced by Lima Airport Partners (LAP), the entity responsible for delivering commercial spaces to airport operators. The Airport City project will begin with the opening of the new Jorge Chávez and will extend beyond 2051, transforming the airport into a modern city with landing and take-off strips, transportation offers for people and cargo, and commercial services for people.
The commercial areas of the future Airport City will be divided into four parcels:
- North Head
- Santa Rosa
- Gambetta
- Faucett
So far, Cabecera Norte and Gambetta are the first two to have awarded businesses.
North Head
It is a 21-hectare plot, where the Callao Logistics Park will mainly be developed, with an approximate investment of US$53 million. The award was granted in 2020 to Capia and Latam Logistic.
Gambetta
The new aviation fuel plant at the Jorge Chávez airport will be developed here, an area awarded to CLH Aviacion of Spain, who have formed the company Exolum Peru. It is expected that they will invest approximately $100 million dollars in a first stage and the rest of the space will be reserved for the development of a free zone, logistics warehouses, catering companies and a fuel tap.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that this 2023 the commercialization of the Santa Rosa plot begins. LAP has launched the hotel and parking contest and is about to tender areas for offices, cargo warehouses, ground handling (ramp), logistics warehouses, among others. And in the future, the marketing of the Faucett plot will also continue.
