As regards the state of progress of the procedures to remove the crashed aircraft from the runway of Jorge Chávez International Airport, LAP informs the following:

  1. The Comisión Investigadora de Accidentes de Aviación (Aviation Accident Investigation Commission -CIAA), attached to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, is the authority in charge of determining the causes according to eminently technical criteria.
  2. The removal of all the elements involved in the accident, including the aircraft, can only be done with the permission of the CIAA. In this sense, LAP has provided the necessary facilities.
  3. At the same time, personnel from the Government Attorney General’s Office is in charge of all the procedures related to the victims of the accident.
  4. When the removal of the aircraft is authorized, a runway inspection will be carried out to verify any damage to the infrastructure, which will allow us to resume operations in complete safety and safeguard the integrity of our passengers and workers.
  5. We regret the loss of our fellow workers and we have been closely monitoring the health condition of the injured aeronautical firefighter.
  6. We recommend our users and passengers to be aware of the communications that LAP will release through its official channels.

As regards the state of progress of the procedures to remove the crashed aircraft from the runway of Jorge Chávez International Airport, LAP informs the following:

  1. We reiterate our deepest condolences for the loss of the lives of our two fellow firefighters. And we are closely monitoring the evolution of the health condition of our third injured aeronautical firefighter.
  2. At this moment, we are collaborating with the Comisión Investigadora de Accidentes de Aviación (Aviation Accident Investigation Commission -CIAA) of the @MTC_GobPeru, a body in charge of determining the causes of the accident; and with the Government Attorney General’s Office of #Callao that already started the corresponding investigations.
  3. The removal of all the elements of the accident, including the aircraft, is being carried out. In parallel, we are inspecting the operation of the runway. We hope to complete these actions to resume operations as soon as possible.
